Oracle AP automation with AI agents for Fusion Cloud ERP
We build AI agents for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP payables: reading supplier invoices, creating them through the Financials REST API, matching them to purchase orders and receipts, routing approvals and preparing payment batches. Your AP team handles exceptions. Access goes through OAuth 2.0 on your identity domain, and we test outside production first.
For finance teams on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, often in shared services, with invoice volume or multi-entity coding that has outgrown manual entry.
What we automate in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP
The accounts payable cycle from the invoice in the inbox to the payment batch, with your team approving what matters.
- 1
Invoice capture to payables invoice
Invoices from email, portals and structured files are read and created as payables invoices under the right business unit and supplier site, with lines, distributions and the source file attached.
- 2
PO and receipt matching
Invoices for ordered goods are compared with the purchase order and receipt. A tolerance breach goes to the buyer or receiver with the differing lines shown.
- 3
Accounting distribution coding
Lines are coded to the account segments your chart uses. The agent proposes values from past invoices, checks them against your rules and sends low-confidence lines to a person.
- 4
Duplicate and supplier checks
Supplier, invoice number, amount and date are checked before the write, and again just before it. A change in bank details stops for a call to the supplier.
- 5
Approval chasing
Invoices wait with the approver your rules name. Reminders and escalation follow your chain, and decisions are recorded against the invoice.
- 6
Payment batch proposals
Approved invoices are grouped by due date and discount into a proposed batch. Someone with payment authority reviews it, and the batch is released in Oracle, not by the agent.
How one Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP run works
Each step is fixed logic, a model doing the reading, a call to the system, or a person on your team. You decide which steps wait for approval.
Capture · intake agent

How the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP integration works
We build on the interfaces the vendor documents, and we link the documentation so you can check it.
Oracle's own reference has a REST-specific note we plan around. When you update an invoice date through the API, dependent fields such as the due date are not recalculated the way they are on the Create Invoice page. The agent computes terms dates itself and writes them explicitly.
Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is a different system from NetSuite, despite the shared owner. The API surface, security model and object names are separate, which is why the two have separate pages.
Payables invoices REST resource
Oracle describes it as the resource for supplier invoice details, covering headers, lines, distributions, installments, descriptive flexfields and attachments. We create and read invoices here, and use the child resources for lines and attachments.
Import interface
Oracle also exposes a payables interface resource with an import action, which stages invoices for Oracle's own import process. We confirm in discovery whether direct creation or the import route suits your volumes and validation needs.
OAuth 2.0 on your identity domain
Oracle's guide says tokens come from the OCI IAM identity domain tied to your Fusion instance, using authorization code or JWT user assertion for the Fusion application endpoints. It recommends signed JWT client assertions over client secrets.
Versioned resource paths
Oracle's REST paths carry a version segment that changes between releases. We pin the version in tests and review it when your quarterly update lands.
Vendor documentation we build against
- Payables invoices REST resource (Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials)
- Configure OAuth to access Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications REST APIs (Oracle)
Links open the vendor's own site. Interfaces change, so we confirm current behavior in a sandbox before we build.
What we read and write in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP
Reading is the default. Each write has a named gate, so you can see who has to agree before anything changes.
Supplier and supplier site
Read to match the invoice and check bank details. Created only on request.
Gate: AP lead for any new supplier
Payables invoice
Created with lines, distributions and attachment.
Gate: Approval by amount and business unit
Purchase order and receipt
Read to compare quantities and prices.
Gate: Read only
Invoice distributions
Proposed per line and validated against your coding rules.
Gate: Low-confidence lines reviewed
Payment batch
Proposed for review. Release stays in Oracle.
Gate: Payment authorizer
Accounting period status
Read before the write, so invoices for closed periods wait for a person.
Gate: Read only
Controls and testing
People stay in charge of money and records. The system keeps the evidence.
A dedicated integration client
The integration runs as its own OAuth client with only the roles it needs, assigned in Oracle's Security Console. It can't approve an invoice it created.
Test environment first
We build in a test or development instance of your Fusion environment, replay real invoices and compare the payables invoices with those your team entered.
Audit trail across systems
Each run stores the invoice file, the model's reading, the rules applied, the approver and the Oracle invoice ID, so an auditor can walk from document to ledger.
Period and duplicate gates
A closed period or a likely duplicate becomes a task for a person with the reason shown. It doesn't sit as a failed call.
Where we stop, and what to expect
- Business unit, ledger and distribution setups vary a lot. We map yours and write your coding rules down before we automate them.
- Descriptive flexfields differ by customer. We confirm which custom fields your REST resources expose before we write one.
- We don't release payments. We prepare the batch and the person you name releases it.
Questions about Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP automation
Can AI create payables invoices in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP?
Yes, through the Financials REST API. The agent reads the invoice, checks the supplier and PO, codes the distributions and creates the invoice with its attachment. Your approval rules still apply, and a person handles anything outside them.
Is this the same as your NetSuite integration?
No. Oracle owns both, but Fusion Cloud ERP and NetSuite have different APIs, security models and objects. Each has its own page and its own build.
How do you authenticate to Oracle?
With OAuth 2.0 against the identity domain linked to your Fusion instance. Oracle's guide lists authorization code and JWT user assertion for these endpoints and recommends signed client assertions over secrets. Your administrator creates the client and assigns its roles.
Does this cover e-invoicing?
We read structured e-invoice files from suppliers and run the same checks on them. Which country formats your Oracle setup produces or accepts is configured in your instance, and your tax advisers decide which mandates apply to you. We confirm the formats in discovery.
What if we already use Oracle's invoice capture?
Then we read from it instead of replacing it. We add the matching, coding checks and exception queue around whatever capture step you have.
